UK Charts: Girls Aloud scores 4th #1 single

British girl band, Girls Aloud scores their 4th #1 single in the UK with their new single titled “The Promise”. It booted P!nk off from #1 to settle at #2. It is their 19th consecutive top ten hit and is their first number 1 in 4 years (except for the charity single with the Sugababes)

Guru Josh Project enters the chart at #3 with “Infinity 2008”. Razorlight enters the top 5 with “Wire To Wire” and Katy Perry soars from #26 to #7 with her follow up “Hot N Cold”. Last weeks #2 Geraldine McQueen plunges into #10 with “The Winners Song” while X Factor winner Leon Jackson settles for a disappointing #11.
Meanwhile, in the albums chart Australian rock band AC/DC enters the albums chart with their new album “Black Ice” at #1. X Factor winner Leon Jackson fails to enter the chart at #1 with his debut album “Right Now” which debuts at #4 being beaten by Kaiser Chiefs and Kings of Leon.
Leon Jackson becomes the first winner of the X-Factor to not debut an album at the #1 spot in the UK albums chart. (very very disappointing :()
