James Morrison ft. Nelly Furtado – Broken Strings

I have to admit that this is one of most emotional songs that I’ve ever heard in my entire life. James Morrison’s uniquely raspy voice just pierces through my heart. It’s amazing to see that he’s back with a new album, his single reaching the top 20 last September and now he’s ready to release single #2. The good thing about it that he’s teamed up with Canadian songstress Nelly Furtado. The combination is superb and is a great way to step up James’ element as a singer.

“Broken Strings” is a sad song but it is much decent in a way. It’s the only collaboration James had with his previous albums and it’s proving to be a grower. It’s packed with extreme melancholic emotion with regrets, heartaches and heartbreaks. With Nelly Furtado accompanying James they never failed to deliver the song with great emotion portraying to the song and is definitely one of the best I’ve heard James sing since “You Give Me Something”. This is actually good for Furtado as her career is currently on hiatus after receiving a big break from 2006 with her phenomenal album “Loose”. The good thing about the song that it didn’t have much strings than the other James songs from his album. It has a more heavy tune than his previous offerings.

Note: why the heck is James staring like he’s thinking blank. The cover is hideous and he should’ve had posed a different way. Ugly.
