UK Charts: GaGa hits double whammy

Lady GaGa is certainly the hottest female singer in the world right now. She hits a double whammy – #1 in the UK Singles and Albums chart this week with a third week at #1 for “Poker Face” while a jump to #1 in the albums chart for “The Fame”. She wasn’t fazed with the competition with Noisettes “Don’t Upset The Rhythm” and PCD, “Jai Ho” which settled for #2 and #3 respectively (singles).

La Roux climbs from #11 to #7 this week with the smash electropop “In For The Kill” while American four-piece band Metro Station climbed to #6 with “Shake It”.

Biggest new entry this week comes from Jack Allsop, also known as Just Jack with his new single, “Embers” debuting at #17.

Lily Allen certainly is on her way for an another top ten hit with her second single from the album, “It’s Not Me, It’s You”, “Not Fair” jumps to #12.

Other artists debuting at the top 40 are, Jack Penate with “Tonight’s Today” (#23), Doves with “Kingdom of Rust” (#28) and comebacking rap artist, Lady Sovereign with “So Human” (#38.)

    thank god Just Jack is in the charts. i am really warming to the glorious embers. I am also so pleased that Lily Allen is doing so well 🙂 I am sad that the pet shop boys plummeted on the album charts though 😦

    Yep! I’m loving Embers! Such a catchy track! The world is just filled with GaGa these days and i’m starting to get sick of it.
