Single Review: Taylor Swift – "You Belong With Me"

So far, “Love Story” has been Taylor’s biggest hit gaining myriads of fans from all-over the world. Her second CD, “Fearless” has been remarkable worldwide as well as in her home country which it made #1 for a lot of weeks. Even though this single was a late release which earlier peaked at #11 in Billboard last year, she releases this track as her follow-up to the successful “Love Story”. Even though it may sound like “LS”, “You Belong With Me” is still classic Taylor Swift with its relatable theme and fantastic beat, it’s another hit in the making.

Having said that, “You Belong With Me” can become too teeny and very high school with Taylor singing disguised as a nerdy, nobody regular high-school girl ranting about her jealousy with a campus crush. “She wears high-heels, I wear sneakers. She’s cheer captain and I’m on the bleachers”. Its message is close to “Teardrops” but is more pop and hip in sound.

RELEASED: April 20, 2009 (US CD), August 24,2009 (UK)

RATING: 3.5/5

1. You Belong With Me (Radio Edit)
2. You Belong With Me (Instrumental)
