UK Charts: Taio prevents Guetta, Jay-Z for #1 while Madge ‘Celebrates’

Taio Cruz spent his second week in the charts at #1 this week with his latest, “Break Your Heart”. The single prevented David Guetta and Jay-Z to snatch up the #1 spot.

David Guetta and Akon collab ‘Sexy Bitch’ remained at #2 while Jay-Z’s collab with Alicia Keys, “Empire State of Mind” which entered the top 40 at #3 this week.

British rapper Dizzee Rascal failed to get his latest single in the top 10 with ‘Dirtee Cash’. His new album, ‘Toung ‘N’ Cheek’ debuted at #3 in the UK Albums Chart.

Another notable new entry in the countdown is Swedish Dance artist, Basshunter who sees his new single ‘Every Morning’ at #17. His former single ‘Now You’re Gone’ went #1 last year.

Lady GaGa’s latest UK single, ‘Love Game’ finally cracked the top 20. It settles for #19 this week jumping from #25 last week.

Other notable new entries in the top 40 are from latest Sugababe member, Jade Ewen who sees her first single as a solo artist ‘My Man’ enter at #35 while AI alumni, Jordin Sparks pleads for help as her latest ‘S.O.S’ cracked at #39.

In the albums chart, Madonna enters #1 position with her latest ‘Celebration’ while Muse and Dizzee followed her at #2 and #3 respectively. Mika’s ‘The Boy Who Knew Too Much’ happily entered at #4.

    Be interesting to see how Lady Cuckoo does this week with the "physical" release of the song. That used to mean big chart jumps but not so much anymore…

    And hurrah for a Madonna number one. the dvd is excellent!
