Single Review: Joshua Radin – I’d Rather Be With You

I clearly remember hearing Joshua Radin do for the first time on the Ellen DeGeneres show about a year or two ago and I immediately got hooked on his début single, ‘I’d Rather Be With You’ but for some reason, I lost track of his music and my attention is brought about by  more mainstream artists such as David Gray, Jason Mraz in particular. Well, luckily since he gets a UK release and possibly a top 20 début in this week’s edition of the UK Singles Charts, Joshua needs promotion to get his single chart higher.

Originally released in 2008 as part of his sophomore album, American acoustic/folk singer Joshua Radin makes it effortless as he performs his début single, ‘I’d Rather Be With You’. Musically, it’s not top calibre but the lyrics enough would make you get hooked on it. Radin’s pragmatic take on such topic is convincing enough and combined with his sleeky acoustic guitar skills, the way he delivered the song is just suave. It’s definitely something that you’d fall in love with the first time you hear it.

The single was released digitally June 29, 2009 and his first UK album, ‘Simple Times’ is released on April 12th.

RELEASED: June 29, 2009 (UK Digital)
