Robin Carlsson, more commonly known as Robyn has been giving us with the best melodic, content/tune driven dance pop songs for the past few years and most of her tracks deal with melancholy, heartbreak and remorse. The great thing is, she translates every piece of heartbreak into the most wonderful tunes, synthesizers, beats ever available to the undermined dance pop music scene. Recently, I was again blown away by her as she sings the most endearing, tear-jerking version of her latest single plus an astounding cover of an Alicia Keys song.
Last week, Robyn visited BBC’s ‘Live Lounge’ and performed two songs. It’s still mainly part of her British promotional tour for her new album, ‘Body Talk Pt.1’ which was released last week. The first track to be performed is the acoustic version of the UK top 10 single, ‘Dancing On My Own’ – which in my opinion is a tear-jerker.
Then, the Swedish pop gem did a surprising cover of Miss Alicia Keys’ ‘Try Sleeping With A Broken Heart’ with all the improvised beats which in my opinion is better than the original.
Now, you tell me why this girl isn’t at the top of the charts? Why? I mean, she maybe one of the best artists around there that will never get a #1 single or maybe in the future? Who knows? She’s still one of the bests.
