So this new Black Eyed Single, ‘The Time’…

… Is total crap. Sorry but the same hype we got from ‘Boom Boom Pow’ and ‘I Gotta Feeling’ just got lost in this one. ‘The Time’ sounds like a not-so-good cover of Bill Medley and Jennifer Warnes ‘The Time of My Life’ back in 1987 remixed into something incohesive, scattered in its 5 minutes of utter disaster. Don’t get the impression we’re not going to EVER like this but for now, let’s just put this in the recycle bin for good.

The single will be included in BEP’s new LP, ‘The Beginning’ which will see a November 30th release.

Black Eyed Peas bounced back to their former #1 spot after just 1 week when the new single from Tinchy and Amelle slipped to #2 this week. This year has been quite continuing to be Black Eyed Peas year eh? “I Gotta Feeling” spent its 2nd time at #1 this week. Will they continue next week?

Calvin Harris, on the other hand failed to grab the top spot from the two. He finally settled at #3 with his latest “Ready For The Weekend”. His album, also with the same title, will be released today.

Peter Andre, whose comebacking single “Behind Closed Doors” saw the door with the light in it. The single entered at #4 this week.

Little Miss Boots, whose first single, “New In Town” peaked only at #13 last June. Now, “Remedy” finally enters the top 10. Quite an achievement eh? I hope it’ll go up higher next week.

Single Review: Black Eyed Peas – I Gotta Feeling

After the phenomenal output of the comeback single of the four-piece ‘Black Eyed Peas’, – the chorus-less, robotic and irritating track “Boom Boom Pow”. The band is back with a brand-new single. And this time, it’s at least VERY- take note, VERY commendable. The David Guetta-inspired track, “I Gotta Feeling” is a guilt-free treat that might put myself into consideration about re-listening their latest LP. This proves of a worthy label of a “SUMMER ANTHEM” and thus is BEP’s second consecutive US Billboard number 1.

“I Gotta Feeling” has every quality of a summer song. The beat, the lyrics and of course there’s a certain ‘likable’ factor floating around the entire track. It speaks of fun, living life to the fullest and of course the energetic, bubbly and unfastened endless party life. “Tonights, gonna be a good night”. It’s a feel-good track that is purposely made for the summer party spirit. There’s nothing negative about it as it redeems the classic Black Eyed Peas style but inflicted with a bit of a much modern flare compared to their previous offerings (except BOOM). I guess, we’ll see a lot more #1’s for the Peas for a much longer time.

RATING: 4.5/5

The Veronicas stays in the top 10 but fell 1 spot from #8 last week with “Untouched”. Little Boots, who debuted #13 last week fell 2 spots to #15 with “New In Town”. Why the hell “New In Town” is still outside the top 10??? GRR!!
