UK Charts: There’s a lot(t) for this week’s charts

She’s indeed the UK’s newest pop star to come arise from the vast islands of the British isles. Pixie Lott reigned yesterday’s UK Singles Charts with her debut single “Mama Do”. She defeats nearest competitors, Black Eyed Peas which has to settle for the #2 spot with their former #1 hit “Boom Boom Pow”.

While Pixie is the UK’s biggest new entry, Agnes from Sweden comes alive to bounce back to #3 with her new single “Release Me”. Dizzee Rascal had to settle for the #4 spot with “Bonkers”.

Daniel Merriweather never changed his chart position since it debuted into the top 40. “Red” remained at #5 this week as well as Keri Hilson’s latest, “Knock You Down” featuring Ne-Yo and Kanye West.

Second biggest new entry belongs to French DJ David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s latest hit, “When Love Takes Over”. It settles to #7 this week.

There are loads of new entries in the top 40 including Jordin Sparks’ “Battlefield” (21), Linkin Park’s new anthem for Transformers 2 “New Divide” (20) , Lenka’s “The Show” (33) and The Saturdays’ recent anthem “Work” (38).

Meanwhile, in the albums chart Kasabian debuts high in the charts with their latest LP, “West Ryder Lunatic Pauper Asylum” which enters at #1. Black Eyed Peas has to settle for #3 with “The E.N.D.”.

Little Boots’ much anticipated debut album debuted at #5 this week.
